there is just going to be a reeediculous amount of pictures of little people, stories behind them, and my desire to balance my life with just that, little people.
this week;
my goal is to no longer be afraid of this little angel. she was such an awful baby that when she started enjoying things we encouraged it to the point she became a spoiled little toddler without even noticing to the transition. last week i found myself just shy of an anxiety attack in target because of her behavior. my friend and i rounded her up and got out of dodge. my first 3 would have NEVER been allowed to run around a store grabbing things while i laughed at them. however that is exactly what i've been doing. see, i'm so relaxed this time around and enjoying the little baby (toddler which in the long run IS a baby) moments... even the naughty ones. in the store that i day realized we aren't doing her a favor by letting her become a little girl with no boundaries. SO, this week i'm not being afraid to turn off mickey mouse, say no to countless bowls of cereal and crackers, or park by the park with her favorite slide yet not getting out in the rain because she is SCREAMING 'sliiii'.. oddly enough, it has been a better transition than i thought it would be. one thing i've learned is that kids beg for boundaries.. they really do. welcome to boundaries little angel.. but i'm still without a doubt that your boundaries will forever be more free than your older siblings!
this girl went PINK for breast cancer month.. ok.. so maybe it was because she is 8 and loves the color pink. she bleached 2 strips of hair months ago for just this reason but we never got around to pink. my friend had some here while doing my hair and did those plus tipped the bottoms all the way around. everyday i tell her how much i LOVE it. she is now able to talk about breast cancer to people though since we have had that discussion and may be using the colorful hair for good.
on another note; she wore a bra (which was really a fitted half tank top)for the first time ever also. the first thing she said after getting in the van was "mom i don't think i like this thing.. it bugged me all day.. i can't wait to get it off" .. i replied "welcome to the world of women and why many of us rip them off as soon as we walk in the door in the evening" .. had to laugh.
a few reasons i like this picture.. boys will be boys, it's blurry because life with boys is exactly that, i grew up in home where wrestling (or rasslingfor jen who might be reading this and just started laughing out loud) was an everyday occurrence, and the biggest reason is i love that at the bottom of this pile is the boy who is giving me such a hard time with school, attitude and everything in between. may seem mean to some new mom but it's true. don't judge till your little boy comes home with 4 F's even though he is borderline genius and you are consistent, involved,and loving parent who has dedicated her life to creating an environment for him to succeed.
this week i made goals. crafty me time goals. live a little more by using this time as a stay at home momma goals. pinterest the shit out of things goals. when i achieve them, i will share here. getting back to blogging is one of my recent goals and i have to say, "writing out my heart on here again feels refreshing and free".
I can finally comment on your blog again! The rassling comment cracked me up. I love that I taught Grey how to "rassle" and he loves it.
