is that even a word? it is now...
6days ago i made a choice to start living through creation... it's healing to me... what i did not expect is to get kicked down so violently hard... after weeks of our kids having stomach flus, 'real flus' , and colds... it hit mina and i with such force. she ended up at the dr.'s which took us to target pharmacy on a snow day, which meant 1/2 of this damn town thought we were in a blizzard and they had to get their meds NOW, which meant a 3hr wait after i got there, not including the almost 3hrs i waited before going, which i then got a call from the dr. saying mina tested positive for RSV, which i then had to wait another hour to get an inhaler...all with a sick baby and a happy 1st grader because she got to cruise the toy section with an icee in hand for extended amounts of time... i now have stayed up 4 nights on the couch holding a baby upright so she can breathe. oh and lets not leave out 3 kids home for snow days and I AM SO TERRIBLY SICK... i don't know what i would do without my husband... he has cooked dinner 4 nights this week and even banished me into my room for a 3hr power nap before my night shift began... so what i am getting at is... when you empty 2 boxes of tissue, spend your birthday with a pathetically sick baby and a suction bulb... creating is looooooow on the list of to-do's.
since i was a child i have loved life from behind a lens. if anything gets me by in days of gloom it is my camera.....
there is of course so many pics of my very own cupie doll...
lots of vapor bath for my sickie... one of the many things i happened to pick up at target on our 4hr adventure...
before we got pummeled luci and i spent an hour in the yard... sunshine..fresh air... memories i hold onto so i know it's coming again...
sunday i just couldn't stay inside one more day with all the kids all the time solo... brian walked in from church and i grabbed my keys and walked around antique stores to catch my breath... i got a few things with my birthday $ at Albany's Vintage Market... another post coming with an ode to the market and to my lovely friend pam... who is the most giving person i know...
my gaven is an interesting boy... he is quirky... intelligent... DIFFICULT... but it is what makes him, him. where other kids might say "look at that bird" my gavie says "mom look it's a female nw flicker" which i respond... "really?" "smartie pants" "isn't that a woodpecker? why is it eating off the ground then?" and i google it... and why did i even bother?... not only is he right he then replies "its a female...see the colors under the wings? they are the only ground eating bird out of the wood pecker family" and he was right.. cool cool kid...if we steer him right he will come out of childhood an amazing adult.
the next day there was 3 of them!, 2 doves, and several other common birds all in my little 'bird garden' as we call it... soon that will be full of bird feeders, wild flowers, and sunflowers... oh yeah, many of birds...
these days my luci seems to be spending much time creating, listening to music, and being in her room...in her own little world... lucky her.. smile...
oh our eli blu... he is either full force wild or full force emotional... hmm i wonder where he gets it?
and both boys are behind in school work from being sick, so they have not had any electronic priveleges. this means on 4 day weekends you might find them doing anything... ANYTHING for some wii time or even just to sit down and watch a disney with little sister...
including babysit baby minie so mom can vaccum... little did i know he would get out EVERY beanie baby they have for her... and we have been going through LOADS of baby laundry because of the snot, the pink ammoxicilin, the diarrhea from the pink wonder drug, the vomitting from coughing so hard and so on...
i'm off to a HOT shower... and although a nap sounds wonderful after 4 nights of sleeping 20 minutes at a time... luci, who has got little attention and hasn't asked for any, just started crying that we haven't scrapped in a long time... tell me about it sister... so it comes full circle..
