Balancing Bliss

summer time this and that.....

much of this;

she sets up her chair in her wagon and bird watches...she then documents the whole experience by drawing pictures with her markers... stacks of bird pictures around here..

finally getting some of my birthday gifts hung and creating some outdoor goodness....

 my dad came over and tilled my front bed for a make shift garden for this year...it actually worked out great... it's mainly a pumpkin patch so this fall it will look so festive.. and this is what luci thought of it .....

 

we shut our cable off for the summer so it's not even an option to whine at me ... sometimes the boys keep busy and sometimes they just look like they are bored but then they find stuff to do.. that is what summer is supposed to be though... lots of time being kids

so ... lots of just this and that.. summer time in the backyard...

recital....

 eli blu so badly wanted to take piano...out of no where he just had to do it... i was happy to come up with the extra $35 a mo as long as he tried...and the kid did... he was bored out of his mind soon enough and cried through practicing each week but he tried. right when i thought we would never get through the book, and officially we never did because he did not get his last 2 songs checked off, he found the sound he wanted to play for the recital.....

CHOPSTICKS! 

he learned 2 valuable things....1) to follow through and 2) a song he will never forget nor will he need sheet music for it!

the piano teacher whom i love was so patient with him. her kids, who played Fur Ludwig..ahem... were so jealous that eli blu was taught chopsticks... ha! and we could not have been more proud...

enjoying summer...

i've been outside most of my days this week... just can't make myself come back in once i go out there. happily in love with our backyard and my deck chairs...my littles laughing, wagon rides, pups playing, sprinklers, otter pops and a steady breeze... when it gets too hot...i'll come back in and blog all of our happenings..

figures...

the mundane everyday tasks of dishes and vaccuming just hasn't felt 'enough' lately... so today i cleaned. i cleaned bathrooms, cupboards, vaccumed behind furniture, 6 loads of laundry, mirrors, light switches, and so on.... the finale was mopping every corner of this house...once that is done you can't walk through the house...so i sat down in front of the computer to check my email for the day with some kettle corn and ice water and it ONLY FIGURES that my daughter would walk into the room and take a photograph of me sitting on my bum in my pjs eating... like that is all i do!

much to blog...we have had a piano recital, lost 2 teeth, had picnics and put in a garden... be back on my next break after i mow 1/3 of an acre... do you think she will take a picture of that?

who knew? not i!  blown away.... speechless... excited for luci to have a sister... to have all things butterfly, glittery, and beautiful. but mainly...in shock...

grads....

this year we had two grads in our home....

gav spent 6yrs at periwinkle which meant a ton to me. as a young single momma i was worried we wouldn't be stable enough to stay put somewhere ... little did i know i would marry and have 2 more littles in the next few years and stay in the same house the entire length of his elementary schooling...

 

he was so nervous when he came in to sit down. he didn't see that i was in the 2nd row right by him! he was looking out at the 200 other parents...he calmed down immediately after seeing me.

 

mr. smarty pants exceeded state levels in 3 subjects...example; a state science test had 250 questions and he got 247 of them right... that's my gav... and here he is getting his diploma from the only teacher he never liked...eek...

and our forever angel who changed our path more than once ...amy...they look so much alike ... she might as well be his momma...oh how we love her and i just want to take her on to middle school with us...but she has reassured me we are going to be ok...

oh how i will miss her next year...

i know i know ...i will have a new baby to keep my busy but for almost 7yrs she was my baby...there were days in kindergarten that i brought her in 20min late and sometimes i just begged her to stay with me for the day...there was no rush to get rid of her...once her teacher asked her how she was feeling because of her prior absence and she replied "oh my mom lied, we went to macy's" .... nice. in my defense the martha kitchen line in aqua blue just came out and i wanted to see it in person...and we drove home without a thing...we just didn't make it home in time...

 and here she goes...

for the man who....

* without hesitation took my little boy on almost all of our dates... 

* works endlessly to support his family

* changes tiny baby diapers (and big ones too)

* is a 'gluer' of all things

* colors with a little girl on a church pew every sunday

* makes pinewood derby cars and other other projects

* makes the only mac and cheese my kids eat...the 'real kind'

* makes it easy to raise babies with.... i love you...

 

just couldn't make the move...

after giving another blog a go...i found myself not blogging because it was such a pain in the butt.. i couldn't do it..i just love my typepad.... so worth the $4.95 a mo. so i'm back!
