just us.......

 

just another day....little musical performance at gavens school this morning, preschool, target with the girls, stopped by to take care of my dad (whole other story! but he's going to be ok), home to make some chili for tonight in the crockpot, checking emails while cuddling luci while she watches mary poppins (again).

 just another day here. they continue on the same schedule basically and timed around school schedules.

mondays: we (lil girl and i) clean our home and try to do the laundry for the week, homework, dinner, FHE

tuesdays: volunteer at preschool then to eli blu's class to grade papers, after i am finished volunteering there i head back to the preschool for the pick up, load up on groceries for the week and get everything done so when the boys come home i can help with homework and have dinner ready because that evening gav has cubscouts and i volunteer in the library at church.

wednesdays: get 3 kids to 2 different schools, ww, dutch brothers, target with the preschool moms, and if lucky playdate with taco salad and if i'm really lucky a good blazer game and pizza night

thursdays: again 3 kids to 2 schools, go to donnas for coffee and a sewing lesson, pick up at preschool and another good clean on the house because i'm going to let it go until monday,homework, greys anatomy night

fridays: pj day, soak it all up until 3:30 when the boys come home and the weekend starts

saturdays: could be over scheduled or completely lazy

sundays: church for 3hrs, i work in the library and brian is a clerk so tack on another hour, home to watch knights tale

so just another day.....but those little things that make a difference from day to day that seem so minimal but in after thought made memories......like luci being in love with mary poppins, eli blu adding on his little fingers, gaven a cub scout, brian a clerk, greys anatomy night, sewing with donna, dinners we ate, pj days, too many diet cokes and m&m's,knights tale traditions, green smoothies, creations, church dresses, and love for one another on this journey.

these are the very things that make us; US. this blog is a place to make record of that and a place to look back on. i love that i can share it with family that doesn't see us as often as we would like, friends who live here in town but we rarely get together because of families and schedules & scrappers to share  projects with.

so onto blogging...........that IS my blog. i am not trying to change anyones life. i am not here to win friends or win stuff! i don't need "followers" which that alone freaks me out. there isn't a list of blinkies or advertisers on my sidebar but i'm fine with that. there are blogs  i have bookmarked that i check almost daily who are in the industry and have advertisers and blog rolls.........i'm cool with that. however.....the everyday person who starts having 'followers' ? i don't need em'....i have real life friends. i don't even need to give stuff away to keep them!some people do have those things and love it. go on loving it if it's for you, it's your blog.  the reason i go here is because of some comments i received and some blog passer bys who wanted me to have interviews or debates..... i'm not in it for that and it's just gotten a tad bit out of control for me. enough that i am considering making my blog private.

 i'm here just being me....too everyday for some? too mormon? too liberal to be mormon? too house wifey? too anything else?  honestly.....i don't give a damn.........i'm here just being me and making record of us being JUST US.

most peaceful.......

my dad came to pick up gav from school to take him to get his haircut and luci girl just wanted to go too. poppy does alot with us and even more for us but he doesn't normally take 2 kids somewhere. there was no 'he left me behind on the way home' or ' i wanted to play wii why is he playing wii' blah blah....or any talking back about homework because my eli blu had my full attention. it was the most peaceful afternoon i've had in weeks and quite possibly months. just me and my boy.......

and 10 little fingers busy counting 1st grade math.....

i uploaded a ton..........at least 100 pics of scrapbooking .......it's named scrapped.....now if my house burns down.......Lord please don't let it.......i have all my pages stored at typepad.

w.i.w yet again...........

no oomphhhhh here to blog much. it's like i lost it around the new year. i guess i have weigh in wednesdays and holidays still going for me. so that being said.....i lost another pound this week, despite this;

yep we ate it all! it was surprisingly yummy too. i feel bad for the women in line at WW who talk about working out and meal planning and here i am (loser) who just ate half a roof and a tree of a gingerbread house and still lost a pound. i suck. if i would go back to actually asserting myself to weight loss i might drop this 20lbs already and not a pound, but then who would finish off the house?

i have been meaning to blog about blogging....i'm sure it's coming...blogs have gotten so out of control for some people that it has kinda turned me off from even doing it myself.....more to come on that......

for months i watched, prayed for and spread the words of ' yes we can '  and now it is a truth and witness to the world.

eli thought the crowds were so big he needed his binocs......

history was made today. i know the generation before me always talks about "where were you when kennedy was shot?" and they all know. when i was in 3rd grade my class watched the challenger blow up. it was important for me to make a memory and record for my children of this day.

they can say......." i remember when obama took office because my mom kept us home from school that morning and cried when aretha franklin sang"

FHE........

thats mormon lingo for family home evening. last night we had the missionaries over for FHE. originally it was to be them giving the lesson but for the life of me i could not find the lesson topic i was thinking of. we had a gingerbread house left over from the holidays and i knew there was a lesson about corners and how you needed all 4 to have a solid foundation. it was a lesson from a previous elder....maybe 5yrs ago. the elders didn't know it.....brian thought i had lost my mind and had no idea what i was talking of. so i did what every sister would do........I GOOGLED IT!  found it.....cornerstones of faith. then we decorated the house...fun stuff.

how many elders does it take to keep a house together? apparently 3. wink.

i am very fond of a missionary we have right now.....

can you guess why?? smile. the other elder is new as of this week. elder romney joined us for dinner a few days ago.......and i foot in mouth said "not theeee romneys?" and he replied "actually yes". damn why do i do that!

i promised the littles they could eat the whole house after school today. i bet they remember this FHE.

for the love of;

getting home from church, putting on comfy clothes, watching 'knights tale' and ;

aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

thursday proved true to be exhausting. had a much needed pj day friday until we UNEXPECTEDLY found my in-laws in town. it's not that i wouldn't want a visit but it's weird when they live 4hrs away and they are 1/2mile down the street without knowledge or warning. always throws me off a little...especially when i am cooking dinner in my pj's!

a bunch of our scrap crew met up at running with scissors. so happy to have brought catherine. she is such a good fit with us. no drama. i think she enjoyed herself too. i suck at cropping other places than home but i managed to accomplish these;

i took these pics of gav when he was so very little before we were even pregnant with E. it was back in the film days when you didn't even know what shot you 'got'. very pleased with them. he was such a good baby, thank goodness since he is such a pain in my ass most days in the present! it was refreshing to relive those days.

yesterday i took pics of layouts and mini books i have done over the past 5 years. i think it's 100+ pics so it might be a day or two before i get them up on the side bar.

weigh in wednesday........

back on.......had a good week........got all hormonal 2 days ago and so there went all the progress! still lost almost a pound.....(brian informed me i was incorrect by saying 'i almost lost a pound')....so onto another week.......

busy around here.......thursday looks a little too busy for my liking so it will be a much appreciated pj day on friday.......and more plans this weekend

scrapped.........

when we rearranged the rooms this fall brian made a new addition to my scrap space.....

i haven't been spending any time in there because of the holidays but it was quite a treat now that it's hooked up. i have always been against t.v's in the bedroom....so i thought i would NEVER have one in my creative space.....little did i know it was going to be wonderful....

seriously what could be better than a blazer game and scrapping? oh....to couple it with this..

i finished an older layout.......

the envelope was embellished with goodness and then i rubbed on '2008'.....inside i journaled how my blog started in 2008 and 'my journey' is now forever recorded for our family.

i also made this.....

i know i know.....another page of myself!? i came across this pic of me almost ten years ago......i had to scrap it while it inspired me. there should be a HUGE package of christmas photos-winter photos coming in the mail from snapfish any day now and then i will have some fun scrapping the kids.....

today? i promised luci girl that if we cleaned up and did our laundry.......we would go back to the scrap space and play before the boys get home......got keep it flowin'

the un-playdate....

we were supposed to meet friends at the park friday after school.........unfortunately it didn't work out. it was also supposed to be sunny.......it was freakin' cold......it was still a tiny window of hope that we will be back to being outdoors again soon. spring is around the corner.

 

oh to be the middle child and never have your very own friends.......then you finally get to see one and you have to run home.........man........lucky he has a best friend who he sees everyday....

or you could be 9yrs old and a show off who doesn't even need hands to catch himself....and a poser if mom wants to get a pic of you....

it may sound like i am bitching but really .....gav is a 9yr old boy and it is typical boy stuff i suppose but why not record it?? he has really turned things around this year......last year was a constant trial and i must say he has been a really good boy.......

why do they have to get so big so fast? i sold my stroller this summer....i no longer have a baby i bring to the park.......
