Balancing Bliss

took a small vacation from the computer

good to be back.

ag fest was fabulous. it was really just a nice family day. the sun was out and we had a picnic on the grass, we pet animals, potted pumpkins, corn, tomatoes, and a couple of trees. luci was able to ride "spike" the same pony from last year (because i skipped ahead of the line and told the owner than luci has included spike in her prayers and in my defense she has).
and she just couldn't wear her brothers old tattered cowboy hat so yes i embellished it with scrapbooking supplies. hehehe





other than that we have been very busy with dr.appts, dentist appts, and just school stuff. gaven had laughing gas for the first time which was freakin hilarious! when i walked in he said"this was SO much fun!! it was like the best time EVER" and then he reached his arms out for me and i told him he was going to be okay. he replied "i know i just WANT to hug you" now picture all of that being said very stoned. hehehe

  made my first apple pie. it was delish but totally sabotaged my weight watcher progress. i've been walking on the treadmill while watching the playoffs and doing balance ball while watching the last game after the kids go to bed. by the way.....how does anyone watch this much basketball? it's crazy 3-4 games a day. i'm exhausted by the end of the day lately so i do end up sitting down to watch (or work out while watching) but man.... really? it's a LOT of b ball.

  luci's class rode the city bus yesterday for a field trip. lucky for us we live on the bus route. a couple of years ago when eli blu was in that class, he told the teacher "thats my house thats my house" and she came back with "no eli it may look like your house but it's not your house" and he told her how he sleeps there and how his dad cooks there and his cat eats there and so on. so when i came to pick him up she asked me "do you live on waverly?" and i said " ya did you guys go by our house? we have a bus stop right outside our gate" and she felt so bad for telling eli blu he didn't know what he was talking about. anyways....... this year we were prepared. some preschool moms came over armed with cameras in my backyard. the driver was nice enough to not only stop but to let the kids go to the door and get their pics taken. sweetness. so umm ya my friend meg and i have now chased down middle school boys in a mini van and public transportation. hehehe

this sunshine was so needed. finally got everyone healthy and my house bleached. aahhhh.

loving some vitamin d rays. so appreciated. mowed the lawn yesterday, pulled weeds, got my pots ready and even started pulling the neighbors weeds until i noticed my back was starting to feel like i might never bend over again. the kids went on playing with their bikes, skateboards and the good ol' wagon.

we are actually going to take that wagon up to ag fest today. last year was our first time to go and we had an amazing time. you pay to get in for the adults and the rest is free. they pile you up with seedlings, starts, flowers, everything. hence our reason of bringing the wagon this year. we weren't prepared last year with the stroller and not even a bag. there were baby animals and pony rides once again free! just so much fun especially if you are in college with three kids. hehehe.

woke up to luci saying eli blu puked and i said "no honey mommy already shampooed the carpets, remember?"

we walked into their room and sure enough! and then she proceeded to throw up! ran down the stairs to get the carpet shampooer and if the cat hadn't puked at the bottom of the stairs! are you kidding me!?

i'm ready to say screw being "green" and wrap my house up in saran wrap so it is that much easier to clean! urgh.

so that i don't start and end this blog speaking of vomit.......i seem to be rather healthy and plan on using up any time i could use sleeping to play in my scrapbook room. i can take a nap with the kids tomorrow since i think we might be having some down time.

yesterday we heard a knock at the door and it was the UPS man. it was a package from the trailblazers! my loving husband ordered me something. so i ripped into it and it was a jersey. so excited but the sports fan i am NOT i did not realize that there would be a name on the back! to my delight when i turned it around i saw "my boy's" name OUTLAW!  scared the crap out of my kids with my little girl scream! freaked out. gaven was so cute he thought travis outlaw sent it to me personally.

and this one is about my FRIENDS.........who is up for a greys anatomy night at my house once a week? i would love to be your hostess with the mostest. anyone? if no one replies i will be embarrassed and heart broken.  just putting it out there. anyone?? no i'm not desperate for adult conversation. really. i'm not..

   

mongoose update

so apparently someone stole gav's bike and ditched it then another kid found it and dropped it off @ another kids house who has the same bike. that kid didn't know who (gav) owned it and it's been sitting in their garage for 2 weeks. word got around the elementary school and finally the 5th grader found gaven and gave him his dads # and the dad came over last night with the bike. gav woke up this morning and ran back into the garage to see if it was really true. good to know there are many good people still left in this world.

another 2am mommy moment

  woke up to that strange cough that no mother wants to hear because you know what is coming next. why do kids run to you when they are about to puke and not the bathroom? i am just going to go buy a rug for our bedroom door way when we buy a house because that is as far as they get until they let it all go.

  promise not to give too many details but this part is funny. so i may be impatient and bitchy about messes and noise but when it comes to the important stuff........i am over the top calm and loving. so eli blu starts to cry and apologize and i just told him "it's okay buddy i didn't know what to wear to church tomorrow anyways" and the night went on. so i thought we were done and i had him in our traditional sleeping bag set up in front of the bathroom door when i told him " when you are a grown man...i want a mothers day..."  and before i could finish i was hold the puke bowl. i wanted to tell him i wanted a mothers day card for all the times i took care of him when he was puking. we both laughed. think i heard brian giggle from the bedroom too. i need to add that brian is a trooper and i never have to clean up the "mess" if he is home, i just take care of the kiddo.

  so here i sit, watching the snow with my coffee. soaking up the beauty of nature trying to look at it in an upwards fashion so i can see the trees be covered with flakes and not the concrete. i get excited EVERY time is snows, just like a kid, maybe even worse. it seems my joy is still abundant when the kids excitement has dwindled. so much going on with the weather here. snow, hail, sunshine, lightening, thunder, hail, sunshine, snow.  late april!? makes it interesting though.

  so onto the b ball. thanks for all the comments. pam if i had any idea i would have had you over. let me know if you would like to come over one of these nights during the week. they are averaging 2 games a night! yes i made it through all 4 games even though i did have to go sit on a bean bag in the kids room for one of them so they could play the wii downstairs! good trade though. enjoyed myself thoroughly. plan on doing the same today. i warned you it was going to get weird here.

  seems as though the snow has stopped and i should go check on my lil puker. love having the spiritual moments but even more in love with not putting on a damn dress! yuck. think i will just look up into the snow and thank my heavenly father for all he has created and know without a doubt that no one else could have done such an amazing job. you know mother nature is backing him though since there is a good woman behind every man.

is it april??

brian woke me up this morning a little before 7am which could be life threatening on his part UNLESS it is snowing. i don't know what excited me more, the snow falling out my window or the man who i married and KNOWS me.  okay it was the snow but he came in a close 2nd. SNOW? really? it was coming down too. walked outside in my robe to get some pics (too tired to upload right now all for the sake of a blog) and i realized that there was quite a bit of traffic @ 7am for me to be standing outside with pink hair, in a green robe with camera in hand. so back in i went to watch it snow from behind glass like any other sane person. made my coffee and watched it until the sun came out and it disappeared until next season.

okay now i am going to let it out of the bag since i might not be able to contain myself in the weeks to come. although it is not of my nature, AT ALL. most people would never guess this of me and i am about to surprise the ones who do know me well.    i am in over my head with the love i have found in the NBA.  ????

  ya i know. weird. but 8 years ago when the blazers were doing good and i was a single mom who was home either studying for math finals (hey rob remember those days?) i got hooked on them(oh and lets not forget rip city back in the day). then i think they sucked ass for a while and i only heard of them when they were on the news for possession, the one of the illegal kind and i forgot that i had found a love for them. well i couple of months ago i found a blazer game on and it ROCKED. they have great people on their team again and i watched the all star game with brandon roy yada yada yada. it has grown into pizza and diet coke night 1-2 times a week with the game. seriously. gaven even stays up for it. i even have "my boy" .travis outlaw that is. love him. so ya, got way into it. needless to say...we didn't make it to playoffs but that is where i think i am starting a whole new love affair. i'm up for watching all 4 games today. playoffs are ON!

  funny stuff considering one of my deal breakers for marrying someone is if they watched sports. i just didn't want to live in a home where my children were ignored for an entire season of football or whatever. brian finds it quite funny and i do include my kids or they get to watch a cartoon so hey no one is complaining.

i'm off to organize my scrapbook stuff from last weekend and then get back downstairs.......games start @ 10:30am. sick i know. realized how sick one day when i found myself alone in a room clapping and yelling at the t.v

and now reality has set in and i am back to laundry, homework, dr. appts, clearing 30 messages from the answering machine, oh and don't forget snack mom for space week @ preschool (cutting out cheese and meat into space shapes for 20 kids)



i just needed some sunshine to help me keep going and not get overwhelmed if spring won't come i guess i will just have to bloom myself!

OH YES I DID! AND I AM REALLY LIKING IT. and ya it is permanent

  just baked a chocolate cheesecake and crumbled some oreos on top. yummm our house smells heavenly but i will not be cutting into it until i get to the coast. i know mean but i made it for the scrappers.

  i am packing tonight and leaving tomorrow after my preschool run. so much to pack still. it is hard to know what to pack. if i could only just pack up my scrap room and set up again there.

  looking forward to the time away and the walks on the beach. it is supposed to be 70 here this weekend and i bet the coast will be more like 50 or less. i will trade 20 degrees for sanity in serenity. someone just sent me a link to the house we are staying at and it's beautiful. amazing.

  post pics of projects and trip soon.......well not too soon since i will be gone for the next 4 days suckas. hehehehe sorry i don't know what got into me.....hehehee

oh and pray for brians sanity since eli blu spent his birthday money today at the dollar store and he is now the proud owner of several noisy lazer guns, flutes, and other really annoying toys...no i wouldn't do that on purpose. really.
